(April 19, 2018) Lethel “Show Tyme” Brooks got his start singing in church in his home town of Trenton, N.J. And while Show Tyme – a name conferred upon him by R&B crooner Case – works primarily as backing vocalist, writer and producer for a host of R&B and hip-hop acts, his sensibilities never really left the church choir stand.

That historical fusion of sacred and the road house that birthed the soul music that captured the world’s attention can be heard in Show Tyme’s new single, the southern soul ballad “Come Home To Me.” Show Tyme’s gritty baritone meshes well with the gospel quartet inspired call and response backing vocals. Show Tyme takes listeners to soul church on a song where he entreats his woman to bring her love back home. Yes, the song is about that splendored thing called romantic love, but it like with all great soul music it wouldn’t take much to transform this track into a call to come back to church. Check it out.
