(June 12, 2023)Since we first heard Mary Mary over two decades ago, Erica Campbell and her sister Tina Campbell have strongly impacted the contemporary gospel landscape.  Though she still performs with Mary Mary on occasion, Erica juggles several endeavors, such as hosting a highly informative daily radio show, writing a book about inward beauty, and uplifting the Lord in song.  And SoulTracks has supported Erica since her breakout solo single in 2015, “A Little More Jesus” and her most recent track, “Positive,” which earned the 2023 NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Gospel Christian Song."

As fans await an upcoming full-length, Erica returns to SoulTracks with the music video for her positive mover and shaker, “Feel Alright (Blessed)” on the My Block, Inc. label (husband Warryn Campbell's music moniker). On a song that shouts Sunday morning service, Warryn’s contemporary production edge showers the funk (yes, a popping bass, too) topped with R&B's smooth vocal nuances. And that party flavor graces the accompanying video - centering on a highly spirited family reunion with all the guests dancing to their heart's content when they are not swimming or flashing brightly colored fashion statements.

Though there is a party in progress, “Feel Alright,” co-written by Erica and Warryn Campbell and Marvin L. Winans, provides hope and new beginnings to all who made mistakes: “Back when I was tripping/I made some wrong decisions/And now I'm on a mission/God, you've got my attention.” Leave it to Erica and Warryn Campbell to transform their faith walk into an engaging family reunion setting.
