Phoenix's love for music started at the age of seven. During his teen years, he began writing but honed his vocal talents by winning contests and working with local bands. He gained his strength to pursue this gift when the late Luther Vandross and arranger/producer Mattias Gustafsson recognized him. Throughout his career he has achieved a wealth of accolades from film, working in other countries and some prominent artists such as gospel's Anointed, jazz vocalist Nancy Wilson, R&B vocalist Joe, legendary guitarist George Benson, Nas and the late rap artist, Tupac Shakur.
