They were the first concert I ever attended, and I was blessed to grow up during their decade of collaborations with the legendary producer Thom Bell. Now the eight albums that the Spinners and Bell released together on Atlantic Records are being collected on a new 7 CD box set issued on Soul Music Records.
Ain't No Price On Happiness: The Thom Bell Studio Recordings includes all of those famous Spinners/Bell recordings plus incredible bonuses of remixes and previously unreleased tracks from those sessions. For those of us who cherished those albums from 1972-79, it is a treasure trove of joy, and a reminder of the beauty of those orchestral ballads and infectious upbeat songs that characterized a magical decade.
