Shannon
Dear SoulTrackers,
"A Beauty Returns" is more than just my album: it's a movement. In these trying times I wanted to create a record that was fun and relieved people of their daily stresses. The message is simple and non pretentious. I chose the legendary Last Poets and most respected Dead Prez to participate in the project. The producer, Will Roberson and I wish you enjoy the album as much as we enjoyed making it.
I have been busy touring over the years, "letting the music play," and now I am ready for the "Afterwork Party". Thank you.
Love

Biography
DC native Shannon Greene broke out in 1983 working with hot producers Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa on the scorching Mirage Records dance number "Let The Music Play." The single shot to the top of the R&B charts and became the foundation for her debut album of the same name. She followed it with the hit "Give Me Tonight." In 1985, Shannon released her sophomore disc, Do You Wanna Get Away, the title track of which became a club smash. The album yielded a couple other moderate hits, but was not as successful as its predecessor. She moved to Atlantic and away from Liggett and Barbosa for her third disc, Love Goes All The Way, but it stiffed on the charts. Shannon then disappeared for over a decade before independently releasing The Best Is Yet to Come in 2000.
