    Official Biography (courtesy of DSG)

SouLutions are a singer-songwriting duo comprising of Louise Mehan and Steve Lee.

Louise Mehan: Louise hails from the East End of Newcastle, she grew up in the family home listening to the sounds of soul, particularly from the 70s era. She could sing before she could talk and was expected to sing at any and every family gathering.

In her late teens she began to work the local pubs and clubs of the North East, winning local song contests and building up a reputation as a young Aretha Franklin, sounding like when Aretha first signed to Columbia. At the age of 17 she went along with her father to a gig at a local club. Louise wasn’t too happy but went along to keep her father sweet.. Her father told her that there was a band he wanted her to see called the ''Soul Messengers''. . ''The Soul Messengers'' were a trio who were big in the North East, in the main for their tight soul harmonies and slick dance routines. The leader of the Soul Messengers was Steve Lee. Steve was introduced to Louise by her father, who described her as an amazing Soul singer. Steve invited her on stage to sing with the Messengers and she blew the place apart. 12 months later, Steve invited Louise to be a backing singer in a project that he was putting together; however, her talent was such that it wasn't too long before she was sharing the lead vocal with Steve.

Steve Lee: Steve hails from the West End of Gateshead. He too was raised listening to soul music. He is an established Latin Percussionist and vocalist, who has supported legendary artists such as Joe Cocker, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, Paul Young, Shakatak, Johnny Guitar Watson and many others. He has been known to do a great Barry White vocal impression also!

SouLutions: It soon transpired that Louise and Steve had something else in common as well as singing and song writing. They would sit for hours, coming up with ideas and then laying them down in Steve’s studio. One of the song’s they wrote was ‘Listen’. A track, which like the rest of the music they had written, was pushed in a draw and forgot about, until Louise's Mother, Linda Lucas, contacted, via Facebook, Disco, Soul, Gold's site owner, Gary Van den Bussche, in a mission to help her daughter. The song got loaded on to Soundcloud, and after only 2 days, had over, 400 listens, with a stream of offers to remix the song from New York to Australia. Remix offers have been streaming in from around the world, and it now looks like people have finally been given the chance to listen to this duo. They have an abundance of songs, tucked in that same draw, waiting to be heard. Their style has been described, in a similar vain, to Driza Bone and also Lisa Stansfield, who, by the way, has just made a return to the UK album chart.

This could be a real success story if Radio plays this EP. Louise, just recently wooed, Candi Staton, at the David Guest, ''Soul Legends'' tour, in the UK, by singing on stage with the legendary singer. Linda Lucas( Louise's Mother) was brought to tears as she watched the video of her daughter, performing with Candi Staton. The frustration of seeing her daughter's drive and dream, her wanting to be just like her idol, touched her heart. Louise shouted!!! This is what I want to do with my life, I want to sing and write songs. !!!!.

The duo are currently writing & recording their first album, entitled ''Modern Soul''. This is their first, double A side, download single. It's available from iTunes, on the 9th of June.
