March 22, 2022 – Welcome back to Another Groove, our series dedicated to new music that is neither pure soul nor R&B but which contains elements of those genres and may please your ears.  This week we feature the track “Sinner” by Adekunle Gold.

Adekunle is a Nigerian singer and songwriter who kickstarted his career in 2015 with the album Gold, which debuted at #7 on the Billboard World Albums chart. He released his fourth full-length album, Catch Me If You Can, last month. His stock in trade are seductive Afrobeat rhythms topped by smooth, soothing vocals and R&B/pop accents.

Our featured track is a head-nodding, musical sonnet to Sheba, a woman whom he finds ever-so intoxicating, with a delightful guest vocal on the second verse by none other than the great Lucky Daye.  Enjoy.
