Choice Cut: Fostina Dixon invites Cameo's Larry Blackmon to "Get On the Floor"

Fostina Dixon has proven herself to be an artist who can bridge genres like the lines between them never existed. Part of the wave of talented horn players who came to dominate the contemporary jazz airwaves in the not-too-distant past, she has continued to please audiences with her own brand of R&B-fused music, whether performing solo or with her band, Winds of Change.

She won over a bunch of SoulTrackers earlier this year with the track “Best Is Yet To Come,” and she returns with an irresistible new single (available at iTunes) and enlisted funk royalty to boot. Larry Blackmon, the legendary leader of the band Cameo, brings his familiar “Owww” and some 80s style vocal fun to Fostina’s hot new single, “Get On The Floor.”

The song, which is produced by Al "The Burner" Turner, also comes in a great instrumental version, but we think it is Fostina’s collaboration with Blackmon that will have SoulTrackers dancing in the aisles.
