H.E.R. is a singer/songwriter signed to RCA Records who prefers to remain anonymous.  (That said, many in the industry speculate that she is 19-year old Gabi Wilson, a former child star who had performed on the Today Show at age 10.)  Her debut EP, H.E.R. Volume 1, appeared with great, deliberate mystery in September of 2016 and was acclaimed by Billboard as one of the best R&B albums of the year. Late last month, she released H.E.R. Volume 2, which delivers another dose of smooth and minimalist R&B topped by her rich and expressive voice and includes among its fans Alicia Keys and Jill Scott.

We feature here the tracks “Gone Away,” a slow, languorous ballad from the new record, and her inspired cover of the song “Jungle” by Drake from her debut.  Enjoy.
