(February 26, 2023) We've been tracking Michigan-based singer Al Lindsey for a few years now, and he never fails to please. Lindsey has a passion for classic soul, and for good reason. He grew up in the shadow of Motown and was performing in the Mitten State before he was old enough to drive.
Originally signed by Ren City Records, Al released the Always On My Mind project. But he also had a second love, medicine, and he went back to school and ultimately opened a medical practice in Saginaw, Michigan, where he was also able to continue his music, releasing several albums under is Pulsating Music label. He has released a number of singles over the past few years that have attracted an audience on the other side of the pond, including "Nobody But You," and duets with Laura Rain and Ania Garvey. He's proven to create his own distinct sound, melding his strong vocals with a classic groove.
On his newest single, Lindsey delivers a Southern Soul vibe and lyrics that celebrates the good feeling of knowing you are loved -- even if you have trouble believing it happened to you. Lindsey wraps his husky vocals around the tune, making the loving lyrics absolutely believable.
