(September 25, 2023) Music and medicine are two things that Al Lindsey loves.  The Michigan-based singer has had success in both of these fields that, although different, each have the end goal of making people feel better.

Over the years, Al has had his own medical practice while releasing songs that have garnered him international attention and acclaim in Northern and Southern Soul circles.

Now retired from medicine, Al Lindsey – who has been on stage since his teen years - is focusing more on music.  His newest single is called “Someway.”  The self-penned song assures the listener that love will always find a way to one’s heart.  Al describes his lyrics as ‘touching on the core of romance, declaring that there are no boundaries when it comes to loving someone.’

Fitting those lyrics, “Someway” is a smooth groove that draws you in from the opening melody, which is reminiscent of the classic R&B sounds you might hear from Kem, a modern-day Motown recording artist.  There’s a certain irony with that because Al’s passion for music was sparked in Detroit, where he grew up listening to the Motown of yesteryear.  He was influenced by Motown artists like David Ruffin and Marvin Gaye, and went on to be an understudy for the Four Tops, performing with Lawrence Payton, Jr., son of an original Top who is now a member of the famous foursome himself.

With that background and history, it’s not surprising that Al’s latest tune sprang from his love of soulful R&B.  Check out “Someway” below.
