First Listen: Alicia Myers returns "Right Here Right Now"
SoulTrackers definitely have a soft spot for songstress Alicia Myers, both for her time with Al Hudson & the Soul Partners and for her solo career. We still jam regularly to her breakout hit, "I Wanna Thank You" whenever we want a smile.
Well, Alicia is back with a new dance song that will get us grinning again. "Right Here Right Now" was written by Derrick Ricky Nelson and sports a house-style beat fronted by Alicia's recognizeable vocals. It will definitely get you going. A version was released earlier this year, and DJ Spen and friends loved it so much, they knew that they had to do a remix. He tells us: "We loved the track when we first heard it in its original form which was about 112bpm. Wanting desperately to play it in my road sets, we knew at a faster tempo that Alicia's wonderfully inspirational song would do much dance floor damage. Amazingly enough, we were contacted by Ricky Nelson from Acebeat about doing a remix release on the song. We jumped at the opportunity! Needless to say it was a blessing to work on a song like this....it ministered to us while we were working on it and we pray that the work we've done on it will minister to others as well."
