(February 26, 2021) It is gospel truth to say that Binky Womack learned from the best. His surname is testament to that fact. The accomplishments of his father and uncles are too numerous to list, but the Womack family contributed much to gospel and soul music. Those accomplishments could have easily intimidated Binky Womack, and he could have wilted under the pressure. Yet, Binky Womack has embraced the family trade and made his own contribution to the Womack family legacy.

And he continues to do so with “Again,” his latest release that finds him confidently filling the soul and balladeer shoes worn by uncles Bobby and Cecil. Binky’s gravelly baritone falls easily into a conversational that is both recognizably Womack and distinctively Binky, as he sings comforting words to a woman who has been left with tears in her eyes as a result of past relationships.

The gospel and soul music that are a part of his legacy can be heard in this tune as Binky lets her know that she can find trust on earth in the form of this mortal man. Yet, the lyrics reveal that he is not above calling on scripture and higher powers as he works to convince the lady that a future with him can be better than her past. Uncle Bobby taught Binky guitar and the solo on “Again” shows that Binky took what he learned to the next level. Check out Binky Womack’s “Again” here.
