Blessed with a father who sang like Nat King Cole, BLKGLD is fueled by heroes such as Whitney and Boyz II Men who inform the duo’s 90’s R&B flavor.
Our latest First Listen feature presents BLKGLD’s debut original single, “Stay Focused” (BNDR Music), wrapped in a gorgeous island rhythm track. The effortless vocal exchanges and xylophone fills fuel this attractive jam that is all about wanting to be noticed by someone special: “I’ve been craving your touch and you know what to say./So I find it hard to leave.” Between the tight vocals and irresistible beats on “Stay Focused,” BLKGLD has crossover potential from the R&B/hip-hop airwaves to the dance floor.
