We immediately gravitated to her take on the classic “We Three Kings.” Bearing a distinctive Austin bluesy guitar vibe beneath the acoustic piano foundation, it is a moving interpretation of a song that has been covered in more traditional manner by artists over several decades. Candace tells us about the choice of the song, "With all the challenges of 2020, this song is a reminder for me of the true meaning of Christmas. And artistically, it was amazing to work with my long time keyboard player Todd Wilson, cellist Rylie Harrod-Corral and guitarist Chris Schreck on this song. Unlike previous years, where we would have hung out together in the studio, we recorded our individual parts in our personal studios."

The piece works beautifully, and is a nice introduction to Almost Like Christmas EP. Take a listen to “We Three Kings” below, and welcome Candace back to SoulTracks!
