Soundtrack writer Dan Gillespie Sells recruited Khan to perform what would be the missing piece in the otherwise finished album. Opening with a flute solo and moving to a hot rhythm section with a light, popping beat, "Ready When The Time Comes" is a complete earworm riding the pop/R&B edge, boasting full-bodied production including percussive horns and a call-and-response chorus.
