(October 18, 2018) He’s been working the indie grind for a dozen years, but we’re just now discovering talented singer, songwriter and guitarist David Ward, via his new release, Violet, Gold + Rose, which has garnered attention around the world.
Ward has spent the last two years between Vancouver, London and Berlin, building on the success of his two prior releases. And that led to the release of Violet, Gold + Rose, which was mixed and mastered by Grammy award winning Russell Elevado (D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, The Roots, Erykah Badu), and orchestrated with 33 musicians and a special guest appearance from Patrice Quinn (Kamasi Washington).

In addition, David recently recorded an acoustic, live version of the title track from the album, and it is a stunner. A smoldering, soulful ballad, it has the feel of a smoky, late night bar and the kind of performance that would have sounded as good in 1978 as it does in 2018.
