(December 3, 2021) One of the highlights for us in 2021 has been the return of DC-based singer and songwriter Debórah Bond, via her terrific album compass: I and the hot single “Radio.” The disc’s closing track,”atlanta,” won us over as a forward-looking, ethereal piece that was a tasty coda to the strong project.

Now, as we finish the year, Debórah has teamed with producer and drummer Jon Laine (Oddisee) to create new version of "atlanta" that moves us directly to the dancefloor. Laine is known by many as the creator of the tribute show "DC Loves Dilla" that ran for years in the DMV and attracted a cavalcade of stars to perform.

The result of this collaboration is a song virtually unrecognizable from the original version, transforming it into a soul-shaking funk dance tune.

Debórah tells us, "Jon and I have been eager to collab together for years as we have been friends and shared stages together close to 20 yrs. When approaching him about this remix I knew he'd knock it out the park but I was even more surprised at the direction he took. I was expecting a next level head nodding hip hop feel and he took it totally to the world of funk and dance which has always been a genre I've rocked with!! Jon put his foot in this remix! I'm ready to hear it on dancefloors"

We’re digging this remix as much as the artists themselves, and we think SoulTrackers will too. Check out the World Premiere of a collaboration made in heaven, and the perfect ending to a great year for Debórah Bond.
