First Listen: Soul legend Eddie Floyd knows "It Wasn't Meant To Be"

    (March 11, 2020) Eddie Floyd is a true soul music legend. One of the stars of Stax Records, he jumped to the top of the charts with his signature hit, “Knock On Wood,” and established quite a career for himself a full half century ago.

    It has been more than a decade since we heard from Eddie Floyd, now in his 80s, and we miss his soulful, expressive voice. We have a treat this week, as Rock House Records has issued "Guess It Wasn't Meant To Be," a song written four decades ago by Roy Roberts, the one time guitarist in Otis Redding’s band, and recorded in the legendary Stax Records studios with the house band.
