We need to be open to the messages and meanings of these encounters and willing to pursue their hidden truths, even if those truths are uncomfortable, if we hope to find our purpose.

We learn in “Things Meant for Me” that is how Erro wrote some of his most popular songs. The second verse finds Roberson singing these lyrics over his acoustic guitar; “Often times I felt bad when things went wrong/Those tough times always led to a good songs/Years later someone would tell me that song helped them grow.”
Roberson has written about the temptations and loneliness of life on the road and the mixed blessings that notoriety and sudden fame can have on relationships. However, “Things Meant for Me” is an introspective look at the relationship between Eric Roberson, the husband, father, son, and Erro the artist, and how the latter transforms what the former experiences into the art we enjoy.
