(October 2, 2022) A decade ago, Tim Bowman, Jr. stepped into the contemporary gospel arena, resulting in Grammy, Dove, and Stellar Award nominations for his first two full-length projects, Beautiful and Listen, on Trippin' N' Rhythm Records.  And this Detroit native's family support system packs some musical punches.  His father Tim Bowman, a respected jazz guitarist, was spotlighted on SoulTracks, and his aunt, Vickie Winans joined her nephew on the Billboard top 20 hit, “He Will.”

These days, Bowman, Jr.'s serves as the worship pastor at the Spirit of Faith Christian Center in Maryland directing Faith City Music.  Throughout 2021, Faith City Music (F.C.M.) posted several YouTube videos that included label mates Maverick City Music's compelling worship gem, “Jireh.”

After a 6-year absence from the recording studio, Bowman, Jr. and F.C.M join the TRIBL Records family on the upcoming, Welcome to Faith City, backed by a cast of spirited music ministers.  And our latest First Listen focus drops the high-octane testimonial service from Welcome to… that is “Jesus.”

Those who appreciate gospel messages with an urban contemporary oomph a la Tye Tribbett and Deitrick Haddon will sincerely dig their ears in. The frantic atmosphere dominates the accompanying video to “Jesus,” opening with the internationally acclaimed hook from Queen's anthem, “We Will Rock You.”  Bowman, Jr. then leads the musical troops on a football field reminiscent of a funked up marching band halftime show.

The video shifts to Le’Andria Johnson’s fiery performance in the classroom where the vamp shines on God's everlasting faithfulness: “His Love never fails/His Power prevails/He’ll never leave/He’s always with me.”  We look forward to what this praise and worship collective will shower down on their ‘Welcome’ platform.
