First Listen: KeKe Wyatt and G.I. declare their “Love”

    (September 13, 2017) A group that has truly paid its dues to reach respect and success in the gospel industry, G.I. (AKA God’s Image) is a vocal trio whose blend of old and new school R&B, with a pinch of hip-hop, has touched lives inside and outside the church community.  Formed in 1997, the Richmond, Virginia based threesome persevered their way  through several personnel changes, ultimately issuing their self-titled debut in 2009 and two subsequent releases, all scoring in the top twenty-five on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart.

    As fans await G.I.’s third full-length, Winning (Shanachie), SoulTracks introduces a sneak peak/First Listen moment as G.I. and veteran R&B vocalist, KeKe Wyatt address the rewards in balancing the romantic and spiritual side of love. “In Love With You” provides the seamless pairing that the contemporary gospel and R&B markets could gravitate to, and a possible follow-up to the Stellar-Award nominated, "Pray and Don't Worry."  If one can tune out the occasional auto-tuned tweaks, the listener will certainly appreciate the message of love, delivered with winning vocal performances from G.I. and Wyatt.
