(December 21, 2017) It has been a looooong time since we heard from “Flashdance” and “Fame” singer Irene Cara. But the actress and singer is still doing her thing. And she has a song that is part of an ambitious new compilation created by radio personality, Skip The Funkologist.

Skip has put together songs from both popular and less familiar artists around that theme, including the final recording from the legendary Ali Woodson (a duet with Gwen Majors). Today’s First Listen will feature a gentle ballad from Irene Cara and Brent Carter. Straddling the line between pop and soul, it is led by an acoustic guitar and drums and, of course, Cara’s familiar vocals.
