(June 14, 2018) Many peers can attest to New York City native Janice Dempsey’s stellar songwriting, producing gold and platinum records alongside living legends like Freddie Jackson, Smokey Robinson and Najee.  Besides all those gifts at her disposal, Dempsey’s voice is not too shabby either, whether speaking about love, social issues or whatever is on her heart. And it is satisfying to hear an artist whose career has been spent helping other singers now take the time to let loose on the microphone.

For her latest single, “Let’s Dance” (Deh Tyme Entertainment), Dempsey embraces the intimate passions of love. The eighties flavored, mid-tempo R&B jam features Dempsey’s sultry tone backed by a percussive sprinkled groove.  Dempsey’s husband, Danny Pickering, provides a tasty trumpet solo, which heightens the already sexy mood: “Feel the rhythm in your feet/While we’re dancing.”
