Sassy singer-songwriter Janine Johnson began her soulful jazz career in Spain, where she collaborated with some of the country's top musicians. In 2007 she relocated to London, where she joined the Urban Voice Collective and worked with artists ranging from George Michael to The Who, and even sang at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

Janine also pursued a solo career, debuting in 2010 with Strength, Wisdom and Growth, and landing a hit with the song “Rhythm of Life.” Janine is now back with the new EP Passion, and is leading off with a familiar song – an attractive new take on the Sounds of Blackness classic, “Optimistic.” It provides a jazzier look at a song we’ve loved forever, and Janine does her thing vocally.
