Javier Colon to defy "Gravity" in April - hear advance cut

We've been fans of acoustic soul singer Javier Colon since his 2003 debut. He subsequently won the first season of NBC's The Voice, and followed with the excellent album Come Through for You (see our review).

Javier has been fairly silent since then, but we've just learned that he will be releasing a new album, Gravity, on Concord Records on April 15. We've heard advance cuts, and it is just what we hoped: more intelligent, largely acoustic numbers, with a mix of original songs and covers of such notable cuts as Tommy Sims' "It Don't Matter to the Sun" and the oft-recorded Leonard Cohen composition, "Hallelujah."

We're looking forward to the release of the new album. In the meantime, we have a sneak peek with Javier's acoustic take on "Hallelujah." Listen and enjoy!
