Millie Jackson's daughter Keisha shines again with "On The Floor"

(February 19, 2024) Cue the classic Soul Train line dance setup. And the scramble board.

Keisha Jackson, the daughter of R&B legend Millie Jackson and part of the supergroup Daughters of Legacy, is setting dance floors on fire with this blazing inferno of sweaty funk. And we are here for it. The new single, “On the Floor,” is contagiously funky and sweltering soulful while mixing Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up” percussion with a whole lot of Stax energy.

Keisha attacks the song with the same inspirational ferocity of her mom while being surrounded by a smoldering live band and in-sync backing vocals. And the message inside the groove is just as badass: Keisha Jackson is “sick and tired of being sick ‘n tired” with her man at home and finds relief with the DJ in the nightlife via disco vibes. On the catchy chorus, she lets you know she’s “in her own world, out on the floor.”

This will definitely become a musical breakthrough for Keisha. It’s just that good. Expect to put this on mad repeat, SoulTrackers. Oh, the R&B gods are definitely smiling down on us with this one.

Let us know if you’re “on the dance floor” after hearing this.
