(April 24, 2020) It has been six looooong years since we last heard an album from SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner and Detroit native KEM. And that has been entirely too long for us.

In the time since, KEM has married and started a family. But now he is back with a brand new single that continues where he left off in 2014. “Lie to Me” is a sweet midtempo number that plays to his formidable strengths as a smooth soul troubadour.

I'll never try to change who you are
    Take a look around you
Tell me baby can't you see
That I loved you right from the start?
You wear the crown in my heart

The song, co-written by KEM with Anthony Hamilton, Salaam Remi, and Roots member James Poyser,  blows in like a cool breeze from the west, and sounds just right for our taste.

We think you’re going to dig this. Check out “Lie to Me” below and welcome back KEM to SoulTracks!
