(November 24, 2023) Pat Stallworth's entry into the music world yielded one great song. Can she be called a one hit wonder? If the definition of 'hit' is a song that reached the Top 20 of the Billboard Charts, "Questions," the 1974 soul ballad sung by Stallworth and written by Cleveland news anchorman Bill Jacocks, might not qualify as Stallworth's one hit.

However, by another measure, "Questions" is a certifiable hit. The song, a lush, mid-tempo ballad that is representative of that era of soul music, finds Stallworth sensually posing a series of questions to gauge the seriousness of a man who has drawn her interest.   "Questions (Pts. 1 & 2)" qualifies as a rare groove and a vinyl 45 can sell for as much as $300 in Europe. One listen and it’s easy to understand why collectors are willing to pay such a high price for the single while also wondering why the song wasn't a bigger hit when it was released 49 years ago.

Stallworth has remained active and she still sounds good. "Creepin' Sneakin'" is the new single by the legendary Kinsman Dazz Band. It's a swinging Southern Soul jam about a woman who's had it up to here with a cheating man. The band called on Stallworth to lend her vocals to this tune. Stallworth has lost nothing in the voice department. Her vocals are firey on "Creepin Sneakin.'" In a way, "Creepin Sneakin'" serves as the answer to the “questions” Stallworth posed in her 1974 classic. The heat that she rains upon her straying lover makes it obvious that Stallworth didn't get the answer she wanted.
