First Listen: We STAN for Kwabs’ “Last Stand”

Continuing to whet our appetite for his forthcoming 2014 Atlantic Records album debut, UK artist Kwabena “Kwabs” Adjepong delivers another knockout performance that will leave you breathless. The mahogany baritone that wooed us over the last two years with covers of James Blake’s “Wilhelm Scream” and Corrine Bailey Rae’s “Like A Star,” and originals like “Lay Back” and his live versions of “Spirit Fade” and “Calling Out,” is busy refining his sound and what a sound it is.

This time with London singer/producer SOHN (pronounced Sonn), on “Last Stand” Kwabs soulful verses and organic tones lay on a bed of dramatic strings and rumbling electrosoul as emotive and powerful as Kwabs’ rare instrument. We can’t wait until this and more are available for purchase. In the meantime, there’s this gift courtesy of Soundcloud…and of course, Kwabs.
