(September 8, 2017) We're still a couple weeks away from the new album from Ledisi, but the talented singer has shown with her sneak peeks that this may be her most diverse set yet. The first single, "High," had a very contemporary feel, while "Add to Me" was spirited, funky track. Now comes "Here," the kind of timeless adult soul classic that could have graced Anita Baker's Rapture more than three decades ago -- but sounds just right in 2017.
The song bears a modest jazzy arrangement and tasteful backing vocals, all of which support Ledisi's beautiful lead vocals and the lovely lyrics that ask a lover to stay and be the one.
We're getting more excited for Let Love Rule, which arrives on September 22. In the meantime, we'll be spinning "Here" again and again. What do you think?
