(November 1, 2019) Talented singer and actress Morgan James has been bubbling under fame for the better part of the last decade. She has had important roles on stage (Motown: The Musical, The Addams Family), recorded a Nina Simone tribute for Epic Records, and guested on several other projects, most notably knockout performances with Postmodern Jukebox.
James has always shown a penchant for classic soul music, and it comes through brightly on her brand new single, a killer duet with longtime SoulTracks favorite, Ryan Shaw, on a classic Memphis-style ballad, “I Don’t Mind Waking Up (To A Love This Good).” The two great singers sound fantastic together, and raise an already impressive love song to a new level.
