First Listen: Nygel D. Robinson wants "One More Chance"

(July 31, 2019) There's a reason why so many songs focus on the art of apologizing: it's great to receive one, but difficult to muster when it's your turn to give. Not every reunion was made possible by candlelit dinners and tangled sheets; sometimes a man just has to take the L and, well, keep it humble as well as '100.' That's what up-and-coming R&B crooner Nygel Robinson accomplishes in his debut single with Hollow Spirit Studios, "One More Chance."

A North Carolina native with a burgeoning fan base (New York's The Bitter End club, for example, can't seem to get enough) Robinson's tenor holds just enough affection and edge to showcase the necessary bravado required in stepping up to the plate and even catching a little dust if it means he gets the opportunity to get back home: "I was too caught up, full of champagne dreams to know just what I had/Now everything we made's ripped at the seams, and it hurts so bad."  The optimistic, jazz-immersed groove, featuring the dulcet tones of Nicole Del Mar, achieves two goals at once: a musical launchpad for that next amnesty attempt and a first-row seat to Nygel Robinson's potential and poise.
