(February 13, 2018) One of the great 90s R&B groups that we’ve been missing is Portrait. They scored big time with hits like “Here We Go Again,” “I Can Call You,” and the beautiful remake of the Bee Gees classic “How Deep Is Your Love,” and became one of the “go to” groups for fans of the New Jack Swing era.

Producer Michaelangelo Saulsberry was able to adeptly blend hip hop rhythms with R&B stylings aided by writers Phillip Johnson and Eric Kirkland and tenor Irving Washington III.

Since the late 1990s, the members of Portrait have been involved in various endeavors, though never straying too far from the music they most loved.  Almost thirty years after their inception, Portrait founding members Phillip and Michaelangelo have added Ruben Cruz. Hailing from West Los Angeles, Ruben’s roots remain in step with the LA-based sound Portrait is so well known for.

We’re happy to have Portrait back and are excited about the new sounds coming from the group. “In The Moment” is a sexy ballad that has the classic Portait sound, brought forward to 2018. And we have the World Premiere now for SoulTrackers!

Check out “In the Moment” and welcome back the guys of Portrait!
