(November 11, 2019) Sometimes life events can be the catalyst for creativity. For Rachel Huggins’ new single, she turned a decision to walk away from a previous job into an anthem to encourage all of us to tap into carving our own destiny.

“Take Control,” the first release from her forthcoming EP  Keep Dreaming, benefits from stomping percussion that is reminiscent of 70’s disco with its “four on the floor” tempo. It creates a vibe that reflects the liberating nature of the lyric. Freedom from everything from racial injustice to financial hardship is addressed, but it does not take away from the groove Huggins delivers.

Give “Take Control” a listen, and be on the lookout for Keep Dreaming, slated for a 2020 release.
