More than 25 years out of the public eye, Robbins is preparing for his first album since 1985. The title cut, “Good Life,” serves as the first single and finds him in sophisticated form that will delight the many listeners who have felt his absence for too long. Fellow Minnesotan Ricky Peterson has produced a mellow yet groovy track that ideally complements Robbins’ warm tone and classic phrasing. The song’s message of providing for the well-being of our youth and their future is one we can all benefit from hearing—and all the more so with Robbins’ exquisite delivery: “Stand up for our children/Understand and love them now/Man up, for they will run the world as they know how.”
