(June 18, 2020) Singer/songwriter Ron Gerald embraces the belief that getting his music to the wider world is a ‘do it yourself’ project.  The Queens native has been making and releasing his music since 2011 but was mostly sharing his creations with his friends. Gerald finally decided performing live and honing his craft as a lyricist and composer were the best paths to reaching a wider audience.

He’s released four projects since then and is currently working on the fifth, titled Volume 5. That project includes the tune “Here’s To Us,” which is featured in this First Listen. The ballad is described as a “song celebrating relationships that still manage to prosper and remain filled with love despite there being many obstacles and trials along the way.”

The ballad sports a percussive arrangement that features hand snaps and deft guitar play layered over synths as Gerald uses his tenor to honor a woman who maintained her commitment to the relationship during the lean times. And now that the couple has made it to the other side, Gerald sings that its time of him to give her something special. Check out “Here’s To Us” here.
