(December 12, 2023) There isn't much more we can say about the legacy of Russell Thompkins, Jr. As the lead singer for the Stylistics, Thompkins was the voice behind some of the greatest soul ballads of all time, from "You Make Me Feel Brand New" to "Betcha By Golly Wow" and so many more.
More than a half century into his career. Russell continues to tour regularly, both as a solo act and with his own vocal group. And we're also pleased that he continues to release new music (three singles in 2023 alone), with his distinctive falsetto sounding as good as ever.
In time for the holidays, Russell has released the lush, upbeat single "It's Christmas." Written by Alvin Lemar Love III, and produced by Christopher Biehler, "It's Christmas" has a classic Philly vibe to it, but featuring a bouncy Gospel call-and-response with the seven background singers.
