(July 6, 2017) A new voice representing today’s AfroPop scene heartily salutes a legend in Brenda Fassie, once dubbed The Queen of African Pop.  While Fassie’s recorded catalog encompassed twenty albums, some of which reached multi-platinum status in South Africa, Tabi Gazele is getting ready to release her debut E.P. from Ferocious Label Services dedicated to Fassie’s music.  The steamy and upbeat lead single, “Touch Somebody,” captures the spirit of Fassie’s original 1985 Afro-Synth smash, as Gazele bridges electro funk and sultry R&B, amped up with producer Timomatic’s thick thumping bass.

Just a few months ago, Gazele was featured along with soul music veteran Lee Fields on the chorus of Australian hip-hop trio Bliss n Eso’s, “Soul Glo.”  Now this next generation AfroPop singer, who is already boldly honoring one of the genre’s greatest artists, shares her enthusiasm of the past and her vocal skills to the world.
