(December 3, 2021) Now six decades into their historic careers, The Temptations are still bringing the goods. As the group prepares for its upcoming 60th Anniversary album, we’re getting sneak peeks that recognize the act’s historic past as well as its present.

A few weeks ago, the Temptations/Smokey Robinson duet “Is It Gonna Be Yes Or No” was released to a great critical reception, and now The Temptin’ Tempts follow it with “When We Were Kings.” The new single takes a loving look back at the members and songs that helped create the group’s legend, with nods to Eddie, David, Melvin, Paul and more. It is the second advance single from Temptations 60, which is due on January 28.

The cool midtempo was written by all-time greats Narada Michael Walden and Preston Glass along with group leader Otis Williams, and it is grin-inducing from beginning to end.
