Now a trio consisting of Walter and Wallace (aka Scotty) Scott and Leaveil Degree, the Whispers have been active in the studio over the past two years re-recording some of their biggest hits as well as putting down some new ones.
For their latest single, the guys are looking back to their now-classic 2009 Gospel album Thankful to give a new look and feel to song “In the Name of Jesus.” Now re-monikered “In The Name of Jesus 24,” the cut has a sleek urban vibe, with an organ-drenched opening leading to a danceable group, all fronted by terrific group harmonies. Co-written by Kevin Williams, Ralph Hawkins and A Taste Of Honey star Janice Marie Johnson, “In The Name of Jesus 24” has the feel of a classic Jimmy Jam-Terry Lewis production, and is a natural for both Gospel and Adult Soul Radio.
