First Listen: Tim Bowman takes a trip to the 80s

    (May 18, 2022) Tim Bowman is a quarter century-long overnight success. The Detroit native has been a go-to guitarist for many great gospel artists since the mid 90s, and at the same time was releasing his own music. But notoriety came later, first with his Trippin N Rhythm release in 2008 and more recently when his independently released Into The Blue became a surprise hit in both the jazz and R&B communities in 2017.

    Now Tim has become a favorite on the Billboard charts and on streaming services, and on May 20 he will be delivering his fans a new gift. 80s 8.0 is a loving tribute to pop and soul hits of the 1980s. Tim tells us, "Some of my favorite songs were recorded in the 80's by some amazing artists. I wanted to record some of those great songs.” So he plays a basketful of recognizable songs, all given his unique contemporary jazz spin.
