Toni’s version of the top 10 R&B hit from 1991 written by Kenny Gamble and Phyllis Hyman is described as a tribute to the soul legend. It stays fairly similar to the original version in arrangement and build, as it's a ballad wrapped in both soul and jazz undertones. While this version leans heavily towards the original, Toni delivers a emotionally-charged performance that is still her own, and is the latest example of why she has become such a valuable voice in R&B. Added to this arrangement is a dynamic guitar solo which helps effectively compliment the passion of the lyrics. Long-time fans of both Redd and Hyman will both definitely approve of this cover.
