(April 3, 2021) Nashville-based singer and songwriter TonyB is new to us, but he has a sound that will feel familiar to 90s R&B music fans.
His new album, Flashing Lights, is his coming to out many soul music fans, and is, for him, a symbol of his transition to adulthood. He says the album is “a symbol of how life is ever changing and not everything will always be clear. Even in some of the challenging moments, even when everything is dark, you can still find the light.”
We’re 100% feeling the first single from the disc. “Worst Way,” a duet with Paris Lana. It is a tale of a love that the singer wants to rekindle, and the sweet vocal back-and-forth (TonyB’s voice bears resemblance to ST fave Kwabs) rides over a steady beat and an earworm melody. It’s a great intro to this young artist.
