A midtempo groove, "It Takes Two" is a song that showcases Causey's warm vocals, complimented by sax work sprinkled throughout. On this track, Causey is assessing the status of his relationship. It's a lyric that tries to remain hopeful, but when it becomes apparent that the other party isn't willing, Causey ultimately aligns with the fact that "if your heart and soul ain't in it, then we might as well just forget it."
