The Detroit Free Press today announced Kem's "Mack & Third" concert to be held to benefit the homeless. Kem, who was homeless himself for a period during the 90s, has become one of the most socially conscious of artists, and regularly helps the homeless in his native Detroit.

The concert will be held all day on August 26 at Detroit's Cass Park (Temple and Second) and will include a food collection. The Freep reports that the 2009 version of the event drew around 25,000 people and collected 40,000 cans of food.
