Live Performance of the Week: Jonas takes the soul to Denmark

(March 6, 2021) He’s known as “The Godfather of Scandinavian Soul,” and one listen and you’ll know why he has become a hit far outside of Europe. Everything Jonas touches seems to be special, and that was confirmed last year when he won over SoulTrackers big time with his EP 4ward Fast To Future.

Now in this time of no in-person concerts, Jonas is giving his fans a treat, recreating some of the songs from 4ward in a new live session with the Danish music collective 2 Play at the famed STC Studios. The result is yet another gem, one that makes us long for live shows again.

We’re especially loving Jonas’s live rendition of the great 4Ward single “Pick Me Up.” With the band providing a steady groove and bright full horn section, the song has a solid foundation under Jonas’s warm lead vocals. This is great stuff.

Check out “Pick Me Up.” It is our Live Performance of the Week, and may just “pick up” your day.
