With the recent release of that Best of D'Angelo CD/DVD, speculation is running wild. Greatest Hits packages are almost always a sign of the end, sometimes of a phase in an artist career (say with a particular label), sometimes just of a career. As I play D'Angelo's brilliant cut, "I'll Stay," from off Roy Hargrove's first RH Factor, I can't help but wonder if we'll ever get to see him and those dreaming eyes of his ever again. (And punchy mug shots don't count ya'll!)
