Jerry Lawson - Beyond A Cappella

Jerry Lawson

When former Persuasions lead singer Jerry Lawson went solo a couple years ago, it would have been tough to guess that his first recording would be with a band.  But that's what's going on with his 4-song EP, Beyond A Cappella.  Lawson's distinctive baritone works especially well on the classic rock covers of "He Don't Love You" and "Staggerlee," but he also handles "Georgia On My Mind" nicely.  The disc passes by pretty quickly, but is a tasty appetizer to keep us going until Lawson finishes a full debut with his new a cappella group, Talk of the Town.
