    Rayshun LaMarr was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He discovered his gift of singing at the age of seven. He later moved to Washington, D.C. and attended Duke Ellington School for the performing arts as a vocal performance major. To further his studies, he enrolled in the University of the Arts (UARTS), in Philadelphia, as a vocal jazz major with a minor in classical music.

    In 2002 he was named best male vocalist and most outstanding vocalist in the national singing competition in Branson, Missouri. His most recent competition was the DC Idol competition, where he landed first place. Through the years Rayshun has performed around the world with several different groups and artists such as Regina Belle. Upon his success, Rayshun LaMarr was featured in musical theatre and concerts such as, Junkanoo, The Prodigal Son, and the For Sister Only Tour. Also, Rayshun has performed at numerous venues in DC and the surrounding areas, including: THEARC, Red Lounge, DC Convention Center, Pasha Lounge, and Gee's Nightclub.

    Rayshun is now signed to RAD1 management and is working on his debut album "The Legacy Begins". He delivers a smooth and mature sound influenced by Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway, Ella Fitzgerald, and John Legend. With his professional musical background and the completion of his first single "Gypsy Dreams", he hopes to make a profound mark on the industry.
